The Birthday Party

by Gary Gildner

The Birthday Party

This collection of poems is a companion volume to The Swing, in which the award-winning poet’s fascination with life on a remote Idaho farmstead inspires reflections of wonder about the perceptions of his young daughter as well as the natural world.

Gary Gildner lives in Idaho’s Clearwater Mountains. He has published eighteen books of poetry, fiction, and memoir, his most recent being My Grandfather’s Book (Michigan State University Press, 2002), a memoir.
